Do I need to know Chinese?
Classes will be conducted in English, so a basic level of English ability is preferable.

Do I need to bring an instrument, or will instruments be provided?
Participants are responsible for their own instruments.

Do I need travel insurance?
We recommend that students purchase travel insurance, as well as insurance to protect their instruments.

When should students arrive and leave?
Students should arrive on August 17th, the day before classes start. The final performance is on Saturday evening, August 22nd.

May students stay on longer in Dali in the camp housing?
Students may arrange to stay on longer after the camp has finished, but must arrange this with camp organizers before July 17th.

Do I have to be at a certain level of musicianship to participate?
We recommend you have prior experience with music, although knowledge of specific world traditions is not necessary to attend the classes.

Do I have to be able to read music scores?
No.
